Garth Brooks Performs Nine Amazing Shows at the Pepsi Center

I was lucky enough to see one of Garth Brooks’ nine incredible shows in Denver tonight for my birthday. It was his second to last show of his Denver tour, and his second show that day. With a raspy voice and an exhausting tour, he managed to put on a flawless show.

Brooks sang all of his incredible songs, including “The Dance,” “Callin’ Baton Rouge,” “The Thunder Rolls,” “Friends in Low Places,” “Two Pina Coladas” and “If Tomorrow Never Comes.” Just when we thought it couldn’t get any greater, he introduced his wife, Trisha Yearwood. She announced she was sick, however, her performance was also fantastic.

I have only seen a few singers with as much energy as Brooks had on stage. He never stopped smiling, singing and talking to the crowd. It was definitely one of the best shows I have seen!

Fab Four at the Paramount Theater

The Fab Four is a Beatles tribute band from California who formed in 1997. Anyone who enjoys The Beatles would appreciate this band. They performed and outstanding show tonight at the Paramount Theater in Denver.

They look, dress and sound just like The Beatles. Being Beatles fans ourselves, my mom and I had a fantastic time. The Fab Four performs different albums and time periods representing The Beatles, including Abby Road and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club. They even have an Ed Sullivan look alike who entertains the crowd during intermission.

It was fascinating to see I was not the youngest one there. People of all ages attended the concert, dancing and singing along to every word. The Fab Four sounds identical to The Beatles. They definitely put on an amazing tribute concert to The Beatles!

Kongos, Young the Giant and Kings of Leon

Tonight marks another great performance at Red Rocks this month! Kongos, South African alternative rock band opened the show singing their hit songs “Come With Me now” and “I’m Only Joking.” Their instruments, beat and voices make incredible music. The amphitheater was packed from the minute doors opened.

Young the Giant was up next, preparing the crowd for Kings of Leon. The American rock band from California has performed multiple times throughout Colorado. Their very popular songs “My Body,” “Cough Syrup,” and “Mind Over Matter” had the crowd going wild. They too have a very distinct sound with their instruments and voices. After performing for about 45 minutes, people were getting ready for Kings of Leon.

With beer and food stands crowded during intermission, we anticipated the show by finding closer seats down in the planters. Kings of Leon came out and played for about an hour and a half. Their performance was amazing! They played every song I have ever heard of theirs. To name a few, they played “Sex on Fire,” “Use Somebody” and “Be Somebody.” This American rock band from Nashville formed in 1999. They have been performing and recording popular music since. This performance made for an incredible night at Red Rocks.

One Republic Lights up Red Rocks

This Labor Day weekend was one for the books! One Republic lit up Red Rocks with Saints of Vallory. The sold out show was packed with a variety of ages from the time doors opened, until the very last song.

The Colorado band sang all of their hit songs, including “Counting Stars,” “Secrets,” “Love Runs Out,” “Good Life,”Stop and Stare” and many more. They included a beautiful acoustic version of “Preacher” and their violinist performed his outstanding solo in the beginning of “Secrets.”

Not only did they run and dance around the stage while cheering and singing with the crowd, but they also filmed for their new video. At the beginning of “Something I need,” front man Ryan Tedder took the camera from his crew and began running up the stairs of Red Rocks. As he passed us, we made sure to jump and dance in the camera. Tedder continued all the way up the stairs and back down the other side. When he made it back to the stage, he continued to film, never missing a beat or word.

The crowd and band never lost energy or excitement throughout the entire show. It was by far one of the best shows I have seen at Red Rocks!

Bret Michaels Rocks Thunder in the Rockies

Bret Michaels roared through Thunder in the Rockies tonight! The annual event, hosted by Harley Davidson at Thunder Mountain Amphitheater draws in multiple rocks bands and thousands of people and motorcycles.

The show was packed with hundreds of people, cheering and trying to get back stage. I volunteered at this show to help with security for meet and greet. This was the wildest crowd I have seen to date at a concert held at this venue.

While trying to keep the meet and greet line organized, women were trying to push their ways through. As Bret’s car pulled up, women screamed and waved. Bret, being the friendly guy he is, stopped to wave to the crowd.

After helping keep everything in order for meet and greet, it was our turn to meet Bret. He was so nice and asked us if we were excited for the show. He thanked us for everything and made his way back stage.

His performance was incredible, and he even took time to talk with the crowd between songs. He talked about his struggle with childhood diabetes and his his setbacks with that.

After the show, we were eating in the kitchen. When we came out, Bret was in the hallway taking selfies with the radio station employees. Bret stopped and asked if we wanted a picture. Excitedly, we said yes and walked towards him. After taking selfies, he asked how the show was and if we had a nice time. We told him it was great and we let him get back to his trailer. I would call the show a success! It was a great and entertaining concert!

With a variety of ages, the crowd sang and country danced to the band’s longtime hit songs, including “Fishin’ in the Dark.” The setting was perfect with food, drink and merchandise stands lined up around the edges. The crowd was full of country western folks who stayed until the end!

Thompson Square at The Grizzly Rose

Thompson Square rocked yet another show tonight at Denver’s Grizzly Rose! Prior to the show they hosted a meet and greet with a group of lucky fans.Their Keyboard player, Scott Saunders photographed each meet and greet and tagged it on Facebook for fans to easily find. After staying longer to sign CDs, t-shirts, pictures and more, Shawna and Keifer Thompson hit the stage!

Their band was very energetic on stage, each taking their turn at incredible solos. You could see the passion between Shawna and Keifer as they sang with each other, and sense the importance of what each song means to them.

Thompson Square played late, singing every hit song, including: “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not?,” “I Got You,” “If I Didn’t Have You,” “Everything I Shouldn’t Be Thinking About” and more. They always looked excited as if it was their favorite show yet. After playing late, they closed the show by taking selfies with people in the crowd, and signing items that fans were handing them. Another incredible show by this popular country duo!

Big and Rich featuring Cowboy Troy

Big & Rich have returned to country music by releasing their newest hit single “Look at You,” in 2014. They brought their hit songs to the Greeley Stampede tonight, entertaining the packed crowd.

Big & Rich entered the stage in their usual fun clothing-big hats, wacky sunglasses, jackets and vests. After choosing a couple out of the crowd who had been married the longest, they brought them on stage to have shots and watch the rest of the show. Their performance was fantastic, singing all their hit songs and running around on stage.

The shows’ opener was Cowboy Troy, known for his popular hit “I Play Chicken With the Train” (2005). Cowboy Troy riled up the crowd, preparing them for the big show. He helped close the show by coming back on stage and singing with Big & Rich.

Martina McBride Lights Up Independence Day

On July 4, the Greeley Stampede welcomed Martina McBride to perform an incredible Independence Day concert. Opening for her were The Damsels, a new female country duo who joined talents in 2012 and moved to Nashville to make music. The duo includes 19-year old Keenie Word of Hermosa, S.Dak., and 21-year old Aubree Bullock of Loveland, Colo.

The Damsels are great together with their energy, voices and pitch. Having heard them previously perform “Mama’s Broken Heart” by Miranda Lambert, I knew they would be a success.

As the stage lit up blue, the jazz band entered while playing their instruments. Following behind them was McBride as the crowd stood up and cheered. McBride performed multiple classic hits from the 1960’s, including “Suspicious Minds” by Elvis Presley; as well as her popular songs, “This One’s for the Girls,” “A Broken Wing,” “In My Daughter’s Eyes” and “Wild Angels.” Not having aged a bit, McBride, 47, had the looks, energy and dance moves she did in her twenties. As the fireworks began, she closed her amazing performance with a couple more 60’s hits, as well as two of her classics, “Concrete Angel” and “Independence Day.”
